Dear Mr. Larry, a friend of mine has been telling me some very interesting things about Burning Man and it sounds like an experience that I don't want to miss. My question... is this something I want to bring my girlfriend to, or is it a leave-the-girlfriend-at-home kind of event?

The easiest way to tell if your girlfriend would be a luminous asset or leaden baggage is just to ask her. If she has heard of Burning Man then the look on her face will instantly tell you everything you need to know. But if she is the kind of woman that would thrive on the playa, she has probably been going for years and just not bringing you along because she has reservations about you being a good person to go with. So try to chill out a bit, and maybe she will invite you to go with her this year.
